Please Consider Helping Stacey - Cancer Sucks

My name is Pam, and anyone who knows me knows there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my pets. My babies are my kids and siblings to my son.

Almost 2 1/2 years ago, I rescued Stacey. She came from a horrible hoarding and abuse situation. I had never rescued an abused animal before, but something told me this one was special and it was written in the stars for us to be together.

She was scared of just about everything when I first brought her home, from the wind to the sound of Velcro (a sound she still isn’t fond of), she shook and cowered and clung to me with all her might. But over the last couple of years, I’ve watched her blossom into the hilariously sassy and oddball of a girl she is now. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

A couple of weeks ago, unexpectedly, Stacey was diagnosed with mast cell cancer; a diagnosis that even shocked her vet. I was referred to an oncology vet clinic for further testing and assessment. The cancer is in her nose, one of the worst spots to have this type of cancer. And I wanted to see if there was a chance I could save her.

After two days of extensive testing, it was concluded that her tumor hadn’t grown too far past her nose. Great news! And the vet specialist said radiation treatment was a great option for her. Phew!

Then I got the estimate for what her treatment would cost, and I completely fell apart. Over $11,000. I felt like I was just handed a death sentence. “Hand over the money or your dog dies.”

I am gutted and desperately trying to find avenues to raise the money. I’m embarrassed to even be setting up a GoFundMe page. But I am desperate to save my girl. She is everything to me and my son. And I can’t imagine not trying everything I can to save her.

So, I am humbling myself and asking for help.

Any funds raised beyond the goal will

be donated to animal charities because I believe in paying it forward.
