Please donate for Helen Lapage

Hi, my name is Cathy Thomas and I am doing this fundraiser for my dear friend Helen Lapage, who has had many unfortunate events lately. It started last fall, Helen had only been home a few days from her RN travel assignment when her husband suddenly collapsed at home and passed away. This of course devastated Helen and was left with the aftermath. With bills piling up (no life insurance), Helen was able to secure another RN travel job in Plattsburgh. A few days before she was due to start, Helen became sick and was admitted to CPH with double pneumonia and low oxygen rates. While she was there, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Dr’s told her this is incurable unless she is eligible for a lung transplant. Without one, Dr’s predict she may not have more than 3 years. She is now at home, on oxygen 24/7 and unable to ever work. She will be having a procedure very soon, where she will have pieces of her lungs removed and will need a chest tube to recover. She has started the disability process, but anyone who has had to go through this knows it is a lengthy process. Any money raised will go towards household bills and expenses, groceries, travel expenses and any medical expenses not covered by insurance. Any help will be greatly appreciated by Helen.
