My name is Arielle Nankeu and I am writing with deep sadness in my heart about the loss of my fiancé Josue Delwendé Ouedraogo.
As you may know, Josue Delwendé ( also known as Joshua) was the oldest of four children of Reverend Pastor Didier and Yvonne Ouedraogo serving in Temple Shalom Assemblies of God Church in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Josue Delwendé was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer last year September. Today, Josue passed on to the glory of God and though we are saddened by this experience and hoped for a different outcome, I am at peace knowing that Josue was loved and cared for in his last days leading to his passing. I am also at peace knowing that his soul has transcended to be with our Lord.
A little about Josue:
Josue is 33 years old and is from Burkina Faso. Like many immigrants in the U.S., Josue worked hard to make a living. Josue was a strong man full of faith and so vibrant about his ministry work. Josué served in the choir unrelenting and even in the final weeks leading to his eternal rest, he still attended service and sang with his whole heart. Josué was very faithful and optimistic that cancer would not lead to death. Josué would always say that he believes God will do it. Josué was so faithful and I am only comforted that he died in Christ.
Josue’s condition started out as mere stomach pain and progressed into lesions and cancer all within a short span. Josue went through various treatment options until last two months when he was informed that there are no other treatment options available. The doctors said he had an aggressive form of liver cancer. As a family, we tried everything in our power to keep him alive and we stood in faith with him.
I am glad that Josue was supported by loving family and friends who kept his faith alive. Words are beyond me to express how much Josue meant to me. Josue meant the world to many of you as well. Josue was a loving peaceful person and I am glad I shared the past year and half getting to know you.
How can you support?
We are requesting any form of assistance from you to help cover the cost of funeral arrangements and the travel back to Burkina Faso where he would be laid to rest. Any amount goes a long way and I am so grateful for your prayers and support.
