Hi, my name is Kia Jane Squires, I was born in Bournemouth and I am 25 years old. I am a mum of three children, the eldest child named Oliver, he is Autistic and is 7 years of age, my second eldest child is my daughter named Carlena and she is 5 years of age named after my mother who sadly passed away in 2008. Then there is Arthur, the youngest of the bunch who is 1 years old, In January this year my father passed away from covid, heart failure & Pneumonia. I am already grieving the loss of my father, as he was an amazing grandad to my kids, they were his life, my father suffered from alcohol addiction and tried his very best over the years to recover and do better for me and the children but unfortunately alcohol won his battle and slowly killed my dad. In no way do I blame him as we all had a lot to deal with, more then anyone one should. I am still making payments for my dads funeral which was in February this year.
Sandra Georgina Squires is my Nan, she is 83 years of age and was born 1st September 1941, Sandra had intended to celebrate her 83rd birthday with us down the family pub on the 1st September 2024, but had her life taken away shortly before, information on what has happened can be found on Kent online news. Sandra loved her Great Grandchildren and they lit up her world, Sandra was widowed, lived at home with Buster the dog and was sometimes lonely during the evenings, especially after my fathers passing as my father lived at home with my Nan. My nan would constantly buy random toys, sweets and crisps for the kids and loved to take them shopping, have them over for lunch and they kept my nan active & busy. Sandra is well known within the bowls local community and has been member of Grove bowls club and a few others. She was old school & stubborn, its her way or the highway. she was caring & honest and will truly be missed by the community and family/friends.
Due to my parents not being here to support me financially and the death of my nan who was my last only supporting family member for me when I needed the help the most I am forced to create a go fund me for my nans funeral. its speculated in the news/press recently to what has happened and I am in a position where I am forced to take next of kin responsibility due to no one else being alive. I have to make sure my Nan has a lovely funeral with some nice additional extras she deserves that I may not necessarily be able to afford for her myself. Me & my partner who is currently unemployed and living off universal credits, we struggle as it is with our bills, daily living and having three children to raise. I am hoping I can give my nan the best send off she deserves. my nan was passionate about premature babies and my three children were all premature themselves when they were born, my nan did so much for me during those difficult times and the chosen charity during her funeral is the charity called Bliss for premature children. She used to sew little teddies & buy little gifts for the little children and loved to spend her time with my children. All the raised donations will be paid to Kempster & Sons Funeral Directors in Tunbridge Wells. Sandra's funeral will be held at Tunbridge wells Crematorium on the Thursday 3rd October at 12.15pm with the Hearse starting from her home in Bright Ridge Southborough at 11.25.
