Please donate to Egremont Crab Fair Dancing In The Street

Hi, my name is Steve Foster and I am President and Treasurer of Egremont Crab Fair Committee. Egremont Crab Fair is one of the oldest fairs in the UK, having been established by Royal charter in 1267. For many years we have opened the weekend of the fair in September with a free music event on Egremont Main Street called Dancing in the Street. This has previously been funded entirely from grants, sponsorships and donations, however since Covid these sources of funding have almost completely dried up. We simply cannot continue putting on this highly popular event unless new sources of funding can be found. To give you an idea of what it costs to hold this event, this is what it cost us to put on the 2023 event:

Stage, PA system and production services £3,830

Performers and compere £4,090

Toilets £681

Security staff £532

Medical services £700

No doubt these costs will increase this year. The more money we can raise the better we can make the event, so please donate to this worthy cause. Please note that if we cannot raise sufficient funds to continue with Dancing in the Street, any monies raised will be used to fund other Crab Fair events, particularly children's entertainers.
