Elham Modaressi's ongoing medical bills

Elham Modaressi is one of Iran’s “Woman. Life. Freedom” heroes, and she needs your help!

In 2022 a young Kurdish-Iranian girl, named Mahsa Jina Amini was beaten for not wearing her hijab “correctly.” Jina fell into a coma before passing away on September 16th. Following her death, protests broke out nationwide, as Iranians began to demand freedom for men and women living in Iran. Under the current Regime’s theocratic and dictatorial rules, Iranians live under constant oppression. Protestors are subjected to beatings, sexual assault, psychological warfare, and public execution for the crime of asking for freedom. My sister, Elham, is a 32-year-old woman who fearlessly joined the Mahsa Jina Amini- women, life, freedom- protests in Iran. On November 2nd, 2022, her home was raided by the Islamic Republic. She and her family were physically assaulted, before they arrested Elham for protesting. For a week, she was held in an undisclosed location, until her family was finally able to find her. She had been taken to Kachouii prison, in the city of Karaj. For two and a half months, she was subjected to inhuman physical and psychological torture as they tried to obtain a false confession from her. She refused to give one. During this time, her health deteriorated drastically, as she continually received near-lethal doses of IV drugs, that led to her liver failing. Fortunately, Elham was able to escape Iran with some of my family and joined me in Turkey, but she is still not safe. Her liver is failing, and she does not have adequate access to medical care. Her liver is failing quickly, and she needs medical assistance that is hard to access with no insurance or income.
