Help Amadou With Monthly Medical Supplies

I’m writing today to tell you Amadou has been moved to a new facility and that while he is fighting to recover, I am having the fight of my life with our insurance company.

Insurance covered all of Amadou’s emergency treatment from the car crash and even paid for him to be flown to Texas for acute care at TIRR Memorial Herman - the same hospital that Gabby Giffords recovered in – but, BCBS refuses to pay for any more for the kind of care that Amadou needs to recover so we had to leave TIRR and go to a sub-acute care facility nearby that we are paying for out-of-pocket because insurance will not authorize payment.

We are appealing the insurance decision not to pay for this therapy and we are going to fight hard for Amadou by working with my father’s unions rep at UPS (the insurance that covers Amadou), writing to the insurance commission in three different states, and trying to get his story in the media to put pressure on the insurance company.
