Help Save Charlene & Bring Her Home

We are reaching out to you on behalf of Charlene & her family in the hope of urgently raising funds to cover Charlene's mounting medical expenses following a very serious road accident in Bali.

On 21st July 2024, a vehicle collided with Charlene while she was riding her scooter, knocking her off and onto the road and tragically a lorry ran over her arm.

Charlene was rushed to the nearest hospital where she received multiple blood transfusions and has undergone multiple life-saving surgeries. Unfortunately, despite how hard she is fighting, she still faces many more vital surgeries ahead to try and save her arm.

The main concern now is to keep infection levels to a minimum and to get Charlene a critical surgery that might save her arm, although the outcomes remain uncertain.

The most recent procedure Charlene has undergone involved a huge skin graft, however, the surgeons are not confident it has been successful as there were large amounts of necrotic skin that had to be removed from the elbow down.

The chances of finger amputation remain high at this stage and the surgeon is unable to proceed with the critical surgery with her fingers in their current state. They have decided to give Charlene one week before operating in the hope of a miracle and that her fingers can be saved.

Charlene’s next critical procedure is called a Pedicle Flap Surgery. This involves attaching Charlene’s arm and hand to her abdomen in an attempt to regrow the skin and hopefully avoid amputation of the arm.

This complex surgery will require Charlene to remain in the hospital in Bali for at least another 4 weeks, with costs continually rising each day.

In only a few days since the accident, her family have already received medical bills in excess of £50,000 and unfortunately, Charlene's insurance company have refused to cover any costs. Charlene is in a race against time to have these urgent procedures and her family are being left to face these continually increasing medical bills.

Our immediate goal is to get Charlene the surgeries she needs and then stabilize her enough so she can eventually fly home to the UK.

The funds raised will be used to:

1. Cover the costs of Charlene's immediate and ongoing medical procedures, including the crucial pedicle flap surgery in a hope to save her arm.

2. Pay for her hospital treatment in Bali, ensuring she receives the necessary care until she is fit to fly.

3. Assist with the costs of transporting Charlene back home safely.
