Please donate to help cover Beau's surgeries

My dearest darling Beausoleil has had the unfortunate timing of needing two major surgeries within a 6 week period and I am asking for a little bit of help because I hear a little goes a long way.

On September 16th Beau had a toe removed due to a growth that began last December (2021). We first tried alternate interventions, though nothing worked long term and the vet strongly recommended we remove the toe as chronic inflammation can become cancerous over time (if it wasn't already, which we couldn’t determine without removing the toe and doing a biopsy). He spent a little over 3 weeks in recovery (only being allowed to go out a few times a day about 30 feet from our home to use the facilities...). He was such a good sport about it though and got lots of bones and snuggles. He's feeling much better and happily galavanting through the woods once again, fully recovered and happy (and I'm so grateful it was not a weight bearing toe, so no limp and shouldn't have any shoulder or pelvic pain long term).

However, last week I discovered a new growth a few centimeters north of his anus... the vet is treating it for an internal infection and it has been diagnosed as either a perianal adenoma (benign, cystic tumour) or a perianal carcanoma (cancerous tumor). To determine if its cancerous it needs to be removed and biopsied, though due to the growth rate and problematic location, it needs to be removed asap whether its benign or malignant as it could obstruct the anal passage and cause major problems in the digestive track...  his surgery is happening on Friday, November 11th.

In addition to these recent health issues, Beau's little sister Cece has a lifelong health issue with her urinary sphincter (which happens sometimes when females are spayed) for which she requires medication twice a day, for life. On top of Beau’s monthly anxiety supplements, thunderstorm/fireworks sedative medication, and their monthly flea/tick medicine, their monthly expenses have become too much for me.

As a single person living alone in Toronto, and in grad school (part time program about $10,000 per year) and working full time (earning about $35,000 per year) I need some help. Im reaching out to my village in case anyone else may be in a position to help me with Beau’s surgery.

I admit there is part of me that feels vulnerable asking, some shame that I need the help and that I dont earn enough money to support them completely on my own... and another, larger part of me is supremely grateful for the fact that I have a access to credit and very good vetrinary care, and another part that doesnt' give a hoot about the sahme and isn't scared off by being vulnerable in making this request, that will do whatever I need to do to make sure Beau gets the healthcare he needs.

And, I feel supremely grateful to live in Canada, and that most of the time my healthcare decisions don't overlap with financial decisions.

So I am asking for any help, even if its only $1. Any donation is a symbol of support, and would help me not feel lonely here.

If you're able to afford to give anything at all - $1, $5, $10 - to help cover these surgeries, truly no amount is too small and I will be grateful...

And, if it's not a good time to donate I completely get that (and relate as I cannot afford to give any donations to anyone else who asks me at this time either).

Thanks for reading and for any support you may be able to extend.

Love,

Meg, Beau, & Cece
