I was first diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2015. I am grateful for my community who supported me and lifted me up during that difficult time. I was able to go into remission for over 5 years! Thank you to you ALL!!!!

Unfortunately, breast cancer came back for me in 2022, spreading from my breast and into the lymph nodes of my neck. This time it was inoperable.

After living with breast cancer for the past year and a half, it has now traveled into my brain. I had my brain tumor removed this past week in an emergency surgery and now have a metal plate replacing part of my skull. I am currently in recovery.

I am not the same Mieko. I have good days where I remember all the kind and wonderful things that each of you have added to my life. I have bad days where I can’t remember simple tasks, names, or places I’ve been.

My doctors say it will take time, patience, and plenty of rest to heal my brain. As I recover, I will not be able to work and will be forced to take unpaid leave.

I feel very positive about a full recovery as I believe in miracles…..I believe in myself and plan to spend every day of the rest of my life raising & loving the beautiful son I brought into this world. I kicked cancer’s butt before with the love of you all and I plan to do that again.

Thank you in advance for any support you can offer to me and my teenage son, Jesse at this challenging time. All the money we receive will go towards basic necessities, such as food, rent, utilities, and medical bills.

Also, given the nature of my condition, it can sometimes be challenging or overwhelming for me to respond to texts and other messages, so please be patient if there is some delay.
