Please donate to help our cat, Jinx

Aloha,
my name is James McNeil and I have never done one of these things before. My fiancé Michelle and I are dealing with one of our cats who overdosed last night around dinner time. He apparently ate medications that one of our older dogs(who is 90 pounds heavier) is prescribed. I found little Jinx on the basement floor essentially having a seizure and hacking up his stomach and I didn’t know why. He then started to get really out of it and he couldn’t hold his body up or move coherently. We immediately got in the car and raced (literally) to the vet in town.
Upon getting there we knew something was really wrong with him. I had held him in my lap as Michelle drove like a champ all the way there. He started to not respond to us talking to him(he’s very chatty with us normally) and his breathing rate increased. We knew something was really wrong. Once we got him there we waited patiently as the doctors did their duties and it was all very emotional. Eventually, one of the doctors came out and told us that he overdosed and that he could go into renal failure at any point. We told her everything we knew about the medications he ingested and the timeline of events. We held strong…but it is very disconcerting hearing all of this.
Jinx was rescued by Michelle on Mother’s Day of this year off the highway, upcountry Maui. He has been with us at our old studio and now our new place of residence. Those that know Michelle, know that her animals are sacred to her and I can safely say I haven’t seen a human love their animals more than her. We have an animal kingdom here filled with dogs, cats and ducks. We are devastated at the thought of losing one of our own. He is a special cat that deserves the help he can get. We kindly ask anyone that wants to help out with his recovery and vet bills, as we don’t have insurance for him and vet bills are very expensive on top of our wedding we are planning and working towards. We are doing our best at keeping our family safe but it does come with a cost. Thank you for reading and mahalo.
