Randy Overman’s Funeral and Race Car Build
Donation protected
We recently got some of the worst news you can about a family member. Our father, Randy, was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell carcinoma that has metastasized to his bones and lungs. He went to the hospital on 5/12/22 because he couldn’t hold any food down for 3 days. The doctor came back after some blood work and a CT/MRI scan to deliver him the news. Randy, as well as his family was in shock. Here in a couple days on 5/25 he will be getting a biopsy done to see exactly how strong the cancer is. Randy at the age of 63 is a strong man and has the will and drive to beat his diagnosis. Already he has survived a bad stroke about 12 years ago that left him paralyzed on his left side and wheelchair bound. He has two kids and two grandchildren. A daughter Sonja, a son Ryan, grandson Johnnie, granddaughter Gracelyn, and one other grandchild on the way that he just found out about. After further discussion with his son Ryan and his wife Amy. He wants to spend whatever days he has left with them at their home where he will get all sorts of love and sloppy dog drool kisses from the basset hounds. This also will be easier to take Randy to his future doctor appointments as well as have someone there to help him out.
Randy enjoys going to his friends house and helping them build race cars. Randy use to race at Spokane Raceway in the 1/4 mile during the 1980s and hopes to return there and see his friends race when he recovers. Not only that, but family is number 1 to him. He enjoys every moment he gets when he sees his kids and grandchildren. There is not a day goes by that you won’t see Randy smiling. He is the most loving and caring person you will ever meet. He once let a lady use his credit card for some groceries for her and her child. Randy will do dang near anything to help another person out if he can. Randy has “payed it forward” many times and now he needs your help. Please, if you can’t donate say a prayer for Randy and add him to your church’s prayer group.
All of the donations will be used to pay for Randy’s medical expenses, transportation to and from appointments, and the money it will take to convert Ryan and Amy’s house into a more friendly wheelchair accessible place. Lastly, donations will be used to help if Ryan or Sonja has to miss time from work to help him. We will be giving updates through out this journey and ask that you keep Randy in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you and God bless.
Update 6/28/2022: Randy passed suddenly on 6/4/2022 from his kidneys creating too much potassium and went into cardiac arrest and wasn’t able to be brought back. All donations going forward will be used to help funeral costs as well as building his dream race car that Sonja and Ryan are going to do in honor of their dad. Randy has most of the parts so hopefully the cost of finishing won’t be super expensive. There also has been an account set up at P1FCU under Ryan Overman’s name that you can donate to as well. Ryan and Sonja would like to thank everyone that has prayed and donated to Randy. We are very great full for everyone’s generosity.
