Hi, I'm Chris Cook. Many of you know me but to those who don't, we've been together for over 8 years. Very seldom in those years were we ever apart. We do everything & go everywhere together. She is quite literally my rock & made me a better person, everyday. Things tragically changed on March 29th of this year. She visited the doctor due to not feeling well & they immediately saw that her blood oxygen was at the dangerous level of 57%. After rushing to CAMC Memorial & 24 hours in the ER on an oxygen mask, it became apparent that she would need incubated to help her successfully. After several days a tracheonomy was done to try to stabilize her. She has had a serious setback after weeks of making progress from her feeding tube being placed improperly, which sent her back for emergency surgery & long ICU stay. When she is able to communicate, via pen & paper or slowly texting, she talks of being worried about losing everything while she's in the hospital. Her doctors agreed that her recovery will take quite a while & while she has sick time from work, her recovery will take longer than the time she has. This is why I wanted to try to raise some funds for her to help her recovery be worry free. So she can work on both her mental & physical recovery without issue. She been through quite a lot & it's taken quite a toll on her. We all know Sara would never ask for such help for herself. As humble as she is, she needs all the help she can get. Her family & I do what we can but she needs some extra support. Thanks for taking the time to read & consider. We are grateful.
