Hi, my name is Eileen and I'm fundraising for my daughter Sharon.
Sharon is 49 years old, works for a non-profit and co-teaches at Rutgers University; she is bright, beautiful, very brave, caring and a wonderful daughter.
In 2017 she was diagnosed with DCIS (Ductal carcinoma in situ) in other words, stage 0 breast cancer. Despite many treatments and life-style changes, this developed into stage 2b breast cancer. In 2021 she underwent the conventional treatment of 5 months of chemo. The chemo made her very ill and she had countless complications. Then came the mastectomy, which left her with chronic muscle pain. Through the months she somehow maintained a positive, upbeat attitude and continued to work.
After a scan for her chronic muscle pain in October 2022, several enlarged lymph nodes were found. A biopsy was done and it was confirmed that her breast cancer had returned. Because of the severe reaction to the chemo in the original treatment (they had to stop one of the chemo treatments due to her liver’s inability to process it) she had to seek a different path called the metabolic approach to cancer. She started this immediately and through regular blood work recently found out that her breast implant was causing Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease. Just a few weeks ago Sharon underwent surgery to have the implant removed so that she can be stronger to fight the cancer. She continues her treatment and always has a positive attitude, however, a recent scan showed that the cancer has metastasized to her liver, with one known tumor and other problem areas and more scans to come.
We’re devastated and we need your help. Sharon was extremely sick from the first conventional treatment, it compromised her liver and now with her metastasis, we are challenged again. So now we need to seek more aggressive options that can take into account her severely compromised liver and immune system. We are seeking to raise funds for a cancer center that offers alternative treatments to help her heal and be cancer free.
The costs for cancer healthcare/treatment centers and the post care costs are upwards of $50,00.00 and that’s where we need your help. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer and know how it turns lives upside down, the lives of the patient, family, friends, and colleagues.
Sharon still gets up in the morning with a smile on her face, please help her to keep that lovely smile and make her completely healthy again.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Her very loving Mum,
Eileen
