A group of us wanted to help a friend, so we started this GoFundMe Page to assist Joe Kilmer and his family, who live in Columbia County, New York.

Joe has a great life; he recently became a first-time father this year to a beautiful baby girl Savannah Mae and was also recently married to his remarkable wife Kelsey last year. Joe is a full-time Deputy Sheriff as well as a wonderful son, brother and devoted friend.

Despite all the positives in his life, Joe has struggled medically since 2008 after being diagnosed with a chronic gastrointestinal disorder. Over the last 12 years, Joe has undergone multiple surgeries, all while living life to its fullest despite being in constant pain.

In 2021, Joe became seriously ill, and his treatment forced him out of work. This was only a few weeks before he was to be married. After a few additional surgeries in July of 2022, Joe’s prognosis took a turn for the worse.

This fall, Joe was air-lifted from his home to Albany Med and then again to Mount Sinai. After being stabilized for extreme blood loss, Joe had to once again undergo major surgery.

The strain that Joe’s medical issues have put on the family is overwhelming. Joe’s wife Kelsey has been caring for her husband while juggling the needs of a newborn baby. Joe and Kelsey have been struggling to keep up with their bills as neither one is able to work full-time jobs. The stress on this family is devastating.

Joe and Kelsey appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers and support shown over the past weeks. They are a private family, so asking for help and donations is not in their nature.

So, we are asking for any assistance with their financial burden. If you would like to assist, any donation through Go Fund Me would be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to the Kilmer family.
