On Feb 24, I was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Columbian Hospital after a freak accident at home. In the middle of the night, getting up to go to the washroom I banged my head and knocked myself out. After that, in and out of consciousness, it was a bit of a blur. About a couple days later I managed to get a hold of my cousin to call the police for a wellness check, who in turn called an ambulance immediately.
When the paramedics arrived, my organs had started shutting down and my kidney function was at only 3%. I lost my pulse but was resuscitated. I spent 5 weeks in Royal Columbian Hospital but still have serious medical injuries to overcome, including PRES (brain injury), pancreatitis, sinus tachycardia, and learning how to walk again. I am unable to accomplish regular everyday tasks that we all take for granted, and money raised will help with physiotherapy, massage therapy, prescriptions, transport to medical appointments when family is unavailable, potential in-house nursing and day to day responsibilities.
Your contributions, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
