In January 2023 Suwilanji Mutale was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the stomach that has affected her antrum, bile, pancreas and colon. She suffered sporadic symptoms from February 2022 which became rapidly aggressive.

While on holiday in Zambia in December 2022, she experienced aggressive vomiting which led to medical investigations that discovered she had a duodenal ulcer blocking her food passage and, hence, needed emergency surgery. It was during the surgery that a tumour in her antrum was discovered. Further medical examinations were conducted after her return to the U.K. in February 2023 and it was concluded that the tumour was inoperable, therefore, chemotherapy was the best treatment. The treatment started in May 2023 and though it hasn't been an easy journey, she still strives to keep her smile.

Before her illness, Suwilanji was a hardworking self-employed energetic person who now sadly is unable to work. She last worked in December 2022. She is well loved by her church family and has always been a very selfless, committed and supportive member. It is for these reasons that her community of friends from the church have decided to setup this fundraiser to help Suwi with her living expenses. The last thing we will want her to worry about or deal with, is how to keep up with the bills and the cost of living.
