Please don't let my grandkids become a statistic

Since 2013 my daughter, Chrissy, and her husband Josh, have been in a legal battle with his ex-wife for custody of 2 of my grandchildren. The latest ruling by the “judge” was an unjust travesty that resulted in my son-in-law being charged with criminal contempt for following the advice of local police officers, CPS, as well as the children’s therapists, and physician who all adamantly stated the kids should not be forced to go with their biological mother if they do not feel safe with her. The physician testified to this and a CPS caseworker previously testified that their biological mother should have nothing more than supervised visitation. The judge did not even speak with my grand children, who are 15 and 13 years old, to find out what THEY want. Instead, he ruled that Josh and Chrissy abide by the court order and force the children to go with their biological mother for all court ordered visitation. The recent stay for spring break was ordered despite the fact that my grand daughter has resorted to self-harm (documented) to deal with the anxiety and depression caused by her mother. As you can imagine, 10+ years of court battles has added up to a rather large amount. Despite that, this so-called “judge” ruled that Chrissy and Josh are responsible for the legal fees of the biological mother as well as their own. In essence this judicial bench warmer is making it almost impossible for Chrissy and Josh to continue fighting for the kids. I do not want them to give up but I also do not want them to have to sell everything they own. We are helping where and when we can but Chrissy and Josh are reluctant to ask us for help because of pride. Understandable but not practical so now I am starting this fund. My goal is to raise enough money to pay off the work their attorney has done and help fund what is still to come. It is my fondest wish that we can work together to get justice for my grandchildren. All kids deserve to feel safe and trusting in their environment. Please help us make an example of this injustice so that others won’t have to experience the financial and emotional burdens that we have. Thanks for reading!
