Save Layan’s Family!

"I was going to get married. I had dreamed of the day I would be wed to my loving partner, and I became more and more excited as the time drew closer. It is just a month away now, and what made me once so happy now makes me cry day and night over everything I've lost."

These are the words of Weam Moeen, a soon-to-be bride in Gaza, and my dear friend.

Weam lost her family home to an Israeli bombing, and she escaped with her life only to find some of her family members had been killed in the attack. She is now left with her little sister and her sick father, living out on the cold streets in a cramped tent with little food and water. After getting engaged last year, she and her partner worked really hard to get an apartment and were overjoyed to finally have their humble abode. With the help of their families they decorated and filled their rooms with furniture and blessings, and soon the apartment became a home. Weam was very happy and she filled her home with her wedding dress, jewelry, and family heirlooms that are saved just for that special day. On November 1st, Weam lost her marital home and the memories she would have made in it.

On top of the devastation of losing her dreams of becoming a bride, Weam fears for her little sister, Layan, who should be in school and enjoying the days of her childhood along with her friends, but instead spends her days fighting dearly for her life. Weam worries about her sisters' education and her mental state.

Please, I beg you in the name of God, help Weam rebuild her life. Please donate so she may rebuild her home and take care of her little sister and their cat Jon who is suffering badly as a result of the bombings.
