Please help a family of 5 get back on their feet

This past weekend in the town of Highland Falls, New York, a devastating flood wreaked havoc on the lives of many. Hitting close to home, this storm terribly affected my sister and her family. Bryan, Madison and their three young children Liliana, Scarlett, Bryan Jr., are left to deal with the consequences of the storm alone. This was a terrifying and unexpected tragedy as they are not in a flood zone and home owners insurance is still denying them phone call after phone call- even as the most recent ongoing storm from last night continues to flood their home. The family survives on 1 income while Madison is a stay at home mom to her little ones. Along with the damages to their own home, the flood wiped out all the bridges in town and left an over 2 hour commute for Bryan. During the storm, the rising waters engulfed their humble home, destroying their basement and sweeping away cherished memories. With heavy hearts, they clung to one another. As the floodwaters receded, they are now left to rebuild their shattered lives. Dealing with the upsetting aftermath, Bryan has moved everything out of the basement himself. They had servepro come estimate a price for cleaning the basement after it was all cleared out and was quoted $5000. Bryan Spent 7+ hours in the basement trying to do as much as he possibly could himself with the help of Madison and their 2 daughters Liliana and Scarlett. Effects of the storms aftermath is already starting to form (ie mold) which brings an even larger issue into the mix. There is still major cleaning out that has to be done down there as they could not finish it all themselves…. A professional needs to be involved. The sewer backed up in their home and everything in basement needs replacing. As first time homeowners who were trying to fix up their house as it was before all the damage, this is truly a living nightmare. They take pride in their 1852 historic home and on a daily basis are constantly trying to keep up with the house. At this point Fema is still not involved and the town is not even sure they will be. They have no water or gas currently at their home and because of these situations they had to leave their house to stay with parents. After transporting their 3 children, dog and themselves out of their home, They are determined to restore their home and heal their wounded sprits while getting back some normalcy. Please help this family through the darkest times of their lives and brighten their days to come.

Damage included:

Water was up 5 feet

Sewer backup

Cracks in the foundation. Whole foundation needs to be re pointed

Historic windows in the basement completely

water logged and cracked

Washer dryer and their laundry room with clothing all gone

refrigerator in basement gone

All electric in the basement needs to be replaced

Water filter for boiler destroyed

Lawn mower, leaf blower, weed wacker

Smoker

Car seats, strollers

Extra clothing for other seasons

All their storage, holiday decorations

Kids outside toys

Fence destroyed in front yard

Concrete footings for porch need to be replaced

Yard is no longer grass it’s all rock and debris no where for the kids to play. all new landscaping needs to be done

Water sat on the stairway for so long the stairs need to be replaced

Sheet rock needs to be ripped down and replaced mold starting

Driveway is hollow underneath because it was washed out needs to be refilled with sand and gravel.

This is going to be a LONG road ahead for them as their basement continues to fill from the rain that just seems to keep on coming. They are lost. I know everyone is struggling right now, but they need your help and wouldn’t ask for it themselves so I made this in hopes we can all come together to help their little family.
