Please Help A Homeless Family Keep Their New Housing?

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ragna and currently, I am living in a car with my mother Debra and my son Trace and our three cats. We've been homeless since February 2023, and while we currently have a safe place to park and social workers helping us with things, my mother is starting to have kidney problems and we want to get her out of the car and into housing as soon as possible. We were hoping a program that was offering first, last and security deposits would be open by now, but it's postponed until at least August, and that's not even a for sure thing.

Our safe parking program is situated in Encinitas, and we've found we really like the area and it has almost everything we need in a small area, which is currently saving us a lot on gas. I have a friend who is helping with resources, but we have money problems. I had to take out several loans to cover moving costs in January of 2023 and while most will be paid off in September, I have one that is huge and takes out nearly $400 of my monthly stipend of $1,200. My mother and I are both in credit consolidation programs, but not all our credit cards and loan debt is covered by these programs. While we are hoping my son can live with us eventually, right now he needs behavioral help we can't currently provide, and needs a structure that two chronically fatigued women can't give (I have psoriatic arthritis and muscle pain as well as complications from getting COVID in May; my mother is diabetic and has chronic back pain from prior car accidents). We're hoping to get him into a group home that can benefit him as he learns skills his former foster mother neglected to teach him, but he may have to live with us for a time while we wait for his disability appeal to go through.

The goal is $15,000 for both long and short-term goals. Ideally, we would like to pay off all the loans we've taken out completely so we're only making payments on the credit consolidation programs and the bills not covered by them. We would also like to have a cushion of first months rent/last months rent/security deposit in case the help we are currently receiving can't cover that. Those are some of our long-term goals. Short term, one of our cats has bloody stools and we need to get him looked at, we need to get food that is healthier to help my mother with her diabetes, we need to cover gas for the multitudes of appoints all of us have in Oceanside and Vista, and we would like to fix our car (a 2004 Saturn Ion), getting the current temporary fix on our catalytic converter made permanent, getting the air conditioner looked at, and tinting the windows to keep it cooler. If we get enough, we'll try and get a newer van or SUV so there's more room for us while we have to remain in the car (since we have a Saturn it's hard to find the parts needed to fix things). I would also like to get both my mother and son working laptops so that they don't have to rely on mine for everything.

Every little bit helps! Thank you for reading all this and have a blessed day.
