My name is Manal Abu Nada, a Palestinian from Gaza, residing in New Jersey in the United States of America. My family lives under bombing, hunger and fear in the Gaza Strip. Half of them live in the southern part of the Strip and the other half remain steadfast in their parents’ home in the northern part of the Strip. They have suffered greatly from the shortage of food, water and medicine, as my brother Abdullah was the one who provided these basic needs, but! Fate wanted him to be injured in the bombing of our house. We thank God that he survived after flying from the fifth floor to the ground. Abdullah needs treatment, as he has a fractured skull, broken bones in his right hand, and his eyes are full of shrapnel. He is unable to see, so he needs many difficult operations. The doctors have decided to travel abroad to receive treatment, and his condition will stabilize, God willing. I hope that you will stand by my brother and help him regain his sight, as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Whoever relieves a believer of a worldly hardship, God will relieve him of a hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty, God will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter.”
