Please Help Adam Get Hernia Surgery.

Donation protected

Hello friends, family, and supporters. I hope everyone is doing well. My name is Ashley K and this man standing next to me is my fiancee Adam L. I made this page for him because he sustained an inguinal hernia some time in November 2022 and because of that he is in need of a hernia repair surgery. He is in so much pain every day and has been having a hard time coping with the news. Unfortunately we live paycheck to paycheck and money is very tight right now and we really could use some assistance. Anything helps, big or small. Whether you are able to donate or not I am also asking to please post this page round to everybody you know as well. Make this go viral. We are very grateful for any support we can get. ❤️ A few months ago I got-rear ended pretty badly and it totaled my car and put me out of work for a while because of the lost wages we got behind on bills and we are still trying to catch back up.

So here is his story. The week of November 28th wasn't really good for him. First at his job they had an incident where they had to move the pallets by hand. These pallets are very, very heavy. Adam and this guy were supposed to work together and instead all that guy did was stand there and watched while Adam did all of the heavy lifting alone. But throughout that day he did not feel pain and did not feel like anything bad happened to him with the hernia appearing so he did not report being injured on the job. He thinks that is when he got the hernia and there's nothing he can do now. The very next night he noticed he had a bulge the size of an egg and a burning sensation in his groin area and he didn't know what that was and was going to wait it out and see if it would just go away on its own. Then on the third night he noticed it getting a little bigger so he knew he was going to have to see a doctor soon and we were going to figure something out. A week later, which was December 8th, he was in so much pain at the bulge site that he had to go to the emergency room to see what it was and what was going on.
I am trying to raise the funds for those ER bills (already got the first bill which is almost $5,000 and waiting on however many more bills to arrive.), get a consultation appointment with a general surgeon, $300, hernia repair surgery specifically laparoscopic hernia repair, $7,000 because he develops keloid scars pretty bad when his wounds start healing, so the less incisions the better, his follow up appointment which will be after the surgery (I'm not sure how much it is yet), and lastly for missing work for a week or two after he gets the surgery so we don't fall deeper into debt and lose our home and everything else. There's no way of doing this by ourselves so I am reaching out to all of you for help.

What is an inguinal hernia, the symptoms, the causes and risks, treatment, and etc? https://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/inguinal-hernia

So back at the hospital he had to get a CT done and we found out that he had sustained an inguinal hernia and stated he needed surgery as soon as possible. Adam then told the doctor that he just got his job on November 21st and has 60 more days until he is eligible for insurance so the doctor said ok but preferably no later than the 60 days for him to get it, which would be around February 2023. So the only 2 options he had was that he can either wait it out until he gets insurance or find a way to have the surgery sooner. Waiting it out can become extremely dangerous because if left untreated it can be life threatening. (Since his abdominal wall is weak right now one false move and his hernia can easily get strangulated and if that happens then his intestines can get its blood supply cut off which will require emergency surgery within the hours of it occurring otherwise it can lead to the death of the affected bowel tissue.)
His job is very strenuous so that makes it too risky to even wait and he can't quit or go on disability because we still have to find a way to pay the bills. During his whole working career he has always worked strenuous jobs and at this job that is what he was hired for. Now he is on light duty for the time being and we worry that he could get laid off eventually because he's not able to do what he was hired for and the future of when he will get surgery is unknown. We are hopeful that we raise enough funds quickly then he can get the surgery especially because he's in constant pain, day in and day out and the bulge is slowly getting bigger which isn't a good sign. I will put in updates so you all can follow his journey.
As I mentioned before we are in need of some assistance with the funds and then he can start the road to hernia repair recovery.

Anything helps, big or small and please everyone, I am also asking you to post this page everywhere to everyone you know. Help us make this go viral. We are very grateful for any support we can get. Thank you so much and Happy Holidays. ❤️
