Please Help Aleksis Bilmanis Get IVIG Treatment!

Two years ago, Aleksis became sick with Covid and never got better. Since then, his illness forced him to be home bound, to shutter his business, and sell off his assets to pay basic living expenses and medical treatments. Covid left him with POTS, a form of dysautonomia, a nervous system illness that interferes with the body's ability to control heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, motor function, and cognition. Alek's case of POTS is very severe and disabled him, and prevents him from being able to stand up, walk, work, or perform routine daily living tasks. I have become his caregiver and watched him navigate trying to get diagnosis and care in the last two years. And now there is a treatment, which is costly and new, and not covered by insurance. Aleks qualifies for IVIG, a new treatment that will likely give his life back to him. Aleks very much needs to get treatment so he can improve and maintain his independence.
The treatments cost $18,000 per treatment, and are once a month for six months. Recipients have seen 40% improvement after six months of treatment. Also, Aleksis's doctors said to be prepared for symptoms to worsen at first, and to expect him to lose some of the hard won function he has slowly gained back. He will need skilled nursing and home health aides, so funds will also go to his first three treatments and towards his care during the treatment period as well.
This is the first real hope to gain his health back and anything you can give to help him on his road to recovery is deeply appreciated.
