Hello everyone! Meet Allison. She is an aspiring psychology major with the goal of becoming a marriage and family therapist to help and strengthen the community around her. Despite the challenges associated with being an undocumented student, Allison name has completed her associate’s degree for transfer through community college and finished with a 3.9 GPA. This past year, she held the position of UPRISE fellow where she shared her creative and entrepreneur skills with students around her through workshops. She also helped create artworks that will be displayed throughout the community college campus. Allison is always there to lift those around her up and lend a helping hand. Now, Allison needs our support.
As an undocumented student without access to DACA or a work permit, Allison is unsure if she will be able to reach her educational goals. Her family was hit very hard by the coronavirus. Leaving her parents out of work for weeks. Without a steady income and the piling cost of daily life, her family is not in the position to afford the tuition for the four-year university. Allison does not have access to federal financial aid or loans, and is unable to secure even private loans due to needing a U.S. Citizen co-signer. Please help Allison reach her goals of going to college by contributing to the go fund me.
