Please Help Allison Pietras Beat Cancer!
Donation protected
Hi, I am Allison Pietras' mom, Beth Hudak. On behalf of Allison and her family. I am coming to you and asking that you consider donating to help get them through this crisis. And for those of you that have known Allison for a long time, you know how inspirational and caring she is to everyone she touches. I can tell you that she has always been that way. She and her brother, Tass, were in college when their father passed away. She continued to work and never asked for help. Last year and the year before when it was necessary for me to have a colostomy, Allison is the one that took care of me. I would text her a food list and she would come by every Friday with my food. She would clean my house and make sure that I was properly taken care of. She would drain tubes that had to be drained and make sure I was comfortable. And she did all that while teaching piano to 36 students, taking all three of her children to their events and playing clarinet and piano in our community wellness orchestra. Giving back to the community has always been first and foremost on Allison's agenda. I have been so proud of her over her lifetime there are truly so many more things that can be said about this beautiful and talented lady.
On December 23rd, Ali was diagnosed with breast cancer and scheduled a biopsy for December 27th. Ali and Rob had just returned from her biopsy appointment when Rob received a call informing him that he was caught in the tech sector layoffs, and lost his job and healthcare. Rob was able to find short-term contract work to start next month, but they will not have healthcare. They have chosen to use the Cobra program to extend their current plan so that Ali can keep her doctors. Premiums alone will run $1700 per month. As a high deductible plan, the costs for treatment and premiums will likely reach $30K.
Ali is scheduled for a double mastectomy on February 23rd. All tests and biopsies at this point do not indicate the need for radiation or chemotherapy. However, the final determination regarding those treatments will depend on what they find during and after her surgery. Ali has a positive attitude going into this and is hopeful that the maximum treatments will not be required.
At this moment in time, the most important thing is to get her on the road to recovery. I hope you can find it in your heart to help in whatever way you can. All donations and support will go toward medical expenses (deductibles, co-pays, and maximum out-of-pocket expenses). I will be handling the financial side (monetary donations) of this fundraiser on behalf of Ali.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your generosity, prayers, and support for Ali in her fight against cancer.
