Please help Amal…to keep helping

Amal is one of the incredible, caring people looking after street animals in UAE. There are vast numbers of stray and dumped animals and no formalised welfare system or charity network to assist. It falls upon dedicated volunteers to pick up the pieces - and take on a huge financial and emotional burden in the process. Amal has a life, job, and family, and also super powers, or so it appears to every animal she helps in the rest of her free time.

Amal started caring for street animals 6 years ago, initially focusing on TNR (trap neuter release) and feeding stray colonies, all out of her own pocket. Recently she has taken on many more critical cases and the vets bills are mounting - along with the increase in dumped pets (sometimes still with their collars on or left in carriers in the heat), and sick & injured animals.

She is not the sort of person that will leave a suffering animal on the street, however her credit lines at the various vets are maxed out at AED 19,000 (approx GBP 4,000 or USD 5,000) so she’s limited in what she can do. These numbers are bills to date and don’t even contemplate ongoing costs.

This is a huge amount to clear so we are launching this campaign to help her from the UK, where many animals rescued in UAE find their forever homes. 100% of funds raised will be transfered to pay off vets fees, and are required for TNR, vaccination, microchipping, surgery & care costs, plus 2 cats that require drugs for FIP. Unfortunately it is not possible to set up a gofundme page directly in the UAE.

We are happy to send copies of vets invoices and pictures of cats Amal has helped, and you can also transfer to the vets directly (can supply banking details for international transfer). Please also consider adopting a furry friend from abroad, usually flights are sponsored if you can’t foot the bill yourself.
