Please Help Artemis - Cancer Treatment Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Jen and this is my dog Artemis. She is a border collie & Australian Shepherd mix. I got her as a puppy when I was living in Arizona for graduate school and she's been with my family ever since. She was recently diagnosed with cancer (soft tissue sarcoma) and I need help raising money for her radiation treatment.

Four months ago we had to help our baby pitbull Troy cross the Rainbow Bridge due to cancer that metastasized rapidly throughout his body. Our family was devastated at this loss. Two months later, we found out that now Artemis also has cancer after she got surgery to remove a suspicious lump on her elbow.

We were referred to a vet cancer specialty group where we were told that her tumor was graded at stage 1 and that she has a good chance at survival with treatment. The initial surgery was unable to remove all of the cancer cells due to the tumor's location so she will have to receive intensive radiation therapy. The vet predicts that the tumor will grow back within a year without treatment and likely metastasize, decreasing her chances of survival.

The total comes out to about $8500 and it is difficult for me to afford the full amount after already spending my savings on our pitbull Troy's treatment and subsequent euthanasia.

Artemis still has so much life left to live and I want to give her the best fighting chance possible especially since prognosis is good with treatment. Artemis loves all people and is incredibly intelligent. Her little sister Sage loves her as do the rest of her family and everybody she meets.
