Please help baby Jude and his family

I met Holly and her family last year when her husband, who is active duty Air Force, received orders to Ramstein, Germany. I began babysitting her two older boys while Holly and her husband Kam began the process of setting up life in a new country. Soon after getting here, Holly found out she was expecting baby boy #3. They were over the moon about their newest addition and we all began getting ready for his arrival!
Baby Jude was born in March of this year and the Thayne family began to adjust to life as a family of 5. As Jude began going to monthly check-ups, the doctors started to notice that his muscles weren’t working as well as they should be. They sent Jude to see a pediatric specialist and began running tests for a number of different things.
On Thursday June, 20th, the doctors gave the Thaynes news that no parent ever wants to hear. Their sweet little baby is very sick. His muscles are breaking down at a dangerously fast rate. The cause of the muscle breakdown is still unknown, as the results take weeks to get back.
Jude needs a lot of medical care and unfortunately Germany can not provide him with the care he needs. So within the next week or two, Holly and Jude will be flown to Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. to begin more testing, monitoring of his heart and lungs, and then treatment once the diagnosis is confirmed. Once Jude is properly diagnosed and starts treatment, the Thaynes will receive humanitarian orders to a new base that can continue to accommodate Jude’s special needs.
Once Jude is treated in D.C. it is very likely that he will require special medical equipment. Due to the nature of his symptoms and test results, these items can be needed long term. Unfortunately such equipment is not always covered by insurance companies.
I am asking for the help of our military community, friends, family, and generous strangers. If you can, please donate to this family! Holly and Kam are two of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. They are always willing to help others, no matter what they’re dealing with in life. If you can’t donate, please at least share this and pray fiercely for this family!
Holly, Kam, Teight, Ryland, and sweet baby Jude, I love you all tremendously. I will continue to pray for healing, peace, and answers. I cannot even imagine the heartbreak you feel, but I want you to know that you are family to me and I will ALWAYS be there for you!
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this, donate, share, pray, and send well wishes. Let’s help this family out and take some of these burdens off their plate!
