Please help recover life savings!

My name is Rob and I have been friends with Bill Smith and Lisa Shockley for almost 10 years now. Bill and Lisa are “salt of the earth” type people. They are the kinds of people that would give the shirts off their back to anyone in need, even to their own detriment. Bill and Lisa have been together for about 15 years and have been saving all their money for the past 14 years to be able to build a nice house to live in and eventually retire in. Folks, when I say they have been saving, I mean saving. There have been no vacations, no Friday night dinners out and no needless spending for 14 years. Recently, they decided to move forward with building their forever home on a new piece of property they bought about 6 months ago. This past Saturday morning 06/10/23 they woke up to a phone call from a friend who told them they needed to get up to their property asap. When they got there, EVERYTHING WAS GONE! Somebody had set fire to their brand-new house (under construction) and the remnants were just smoldering in their soon to be basement. The foundation had been poured, all the exterior framing, doors and windows and shingles were installed. All that needed to be done to start working on the interior of the home were the steps to the basement and upper loft. It was ALL GONE. The fire burned so hot that it disfigured the steel I-beam holding the center of the first floor. You can only imagine the horror of waking up to something like this after saving for a significant portion of your life.
Bill and Lisa wanted to build this house with cash and not have to make payments for the next 30 years. Bill was acting as GC on the project as he has a tremendous amount of experience in construction related fields. Because no loan was involved, it never occurred to them to have construction insurance on the home while it was being built. They are out almost $200,000! This is no small amount of money. With this Go Fund Me campaign we are seeking to help get them back to where they stood prior to the Arsonist taking away their dream and life savings. Since nobody was in the house at the time of the fire they do not qualify for most assistance programs that are out there. Even the Red Cross will not help since nobody was displaced or injured.
If you are able to donate $10, $100, $500 or $1,000+ Bill and Lisa would be forever grateful for your kindness and support. The funds will be used for cleaning up the disaster area, removing all the remnants of the fire from the property, demolition of the foundation that was structurally damaged from the fire and to start re-building their dream property.
Bill and Lisa are not the kind of people to easily accept help and/or donations. As I was pleading with them yesterday to let me start this Go Fund Me campaign for them I said this, “You guys have always been the people that would do anything to help out anybody. You have always been the go to neighbors because you have the softest hearts towards others, It’s your turn to receive some of that love back towards you.” Every dollar of your donation will help them and go towards re-building their dream that was taken away from a senseless act of destruction. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, if you are able to make a contribution!! If you are unable to make a contribution we would be very appreciative if you would be willing to share this campaign with friends and family. Thank you so much!
