Blitz lost his battle against DCM. Help his family grieve
Donation protected
Blitz is diagnosed with DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy). He has cardiomegaly in the left atrium of his heart (enlarged heart). He has mitral valve insufficiency (backflow of blood caused by failure of the heart's mitral valve to close tightly). Unfortunately, this has caused pulmonary edema (lungs filled with fluid) and CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE
His vet bills and medications have cost thousands of dollars. This all happened so suddenly, and we were not expecting to spend this much money. We are doing our best to keep him alive and give him a great quality of life. Blitz is only 5 years old and fighting for his life. We really hope he makes it longer than a few months and has years in him.
Blitz has had X-rays twice, blood work twice, an echocardiogram, and a Holter monitor, and he's on lots of medication. He is currently taking Furosemide (50mg), Pimobendan (15mg), Spironolactone (50mg), Benazepril (20mg), and Taurine (2000mg).
Thank you to everyone who has donated. We appreciate the love and support from everyone to help him survive this.
