Please Help Bob with Cancer Treatment Expenses

This is Bob. My fun and mischievous brother-in-law. He is a train conductor, and a video game enthusiast. He loves his family and his dogs. He calls me his “Little Sis” even though I’m older. We all love him and his quirkiness. Bob is now very sick and unable to provide for his family. I am asking for financial help to ease my “Big Brother’s” burden and get him the medical care he needs.

In late March, Bob (Robert), developed a blood clot which caused a major portion of his colon to die off. Poison was leaking into his body and he developed sepsis, a dangerous and deadly infection. He was taken by ambulance to the ER where they incorrectly diagnosed him with colonitis and discharged him with a prescription. The hospital staff left him alone to wait for his ride home. Fortunately his wife and son arrived and found him sitting in the waiting room unconscious and near death. If they hadn’t gotten there when they did, he would have died sitting in that hospital chair! He was rushed into surgery. So much of his colon had died, they weren’t sure if they had enough left after removing the dead tissue to reattach it to the intestine. They left his surgical site open overnight hoping enough blood would return to revive the remaining colon so they could reattach it the next day. Bob spent nearly 10 days in ICU on life support.

Because Bob is the sole provider for his family, he had to return to work, even though he was in constant pain. He is a train conductor and the trains are very rough and turbulent, which added to the pain and probably slowed his healing.

On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, Bob started experiencing similar symptoms. He was literally vomiting feces. He was taken to the ER again and they found masses in both upper and lower lungs and a mass on the liver, which lab tests indicate are cancer. One lung was full of fluid and only functioning at 8%. The hospital claims there is no intestinal blockage and again sent him home with anti nausea meds, pain pills and instructions to contact an oncologist. It has now been 6 days that Bob has not been able to eat and has only been able to keep down a few ounces of water. He is waiting for insurance approval for an appointment with oncology.

Bob is still struggling to pay the prior medical bills from his March hospitalization and is now facing untold medical expenses for this diagnosis. Bob and his wife, Debbie, are afraid they may lose their house because with no income, they can’t pay the bills each month. Please keep Bob in your prayers for complete healing and for peace and comfort for him and his wife. We want our fun and mischievous Bob back!

Any financial support you can give would be appreciated more than you know. Thank you and God Bless you.
