Please Help Bring Dwayne Home

Dwayne is currently in the ICU in critical condition. His immune system is attacking his blood platelets causing him to bleed internally. He has an extremely low platelet count of only 4,500, which could result in internal bleeding in his lungs, GI tract, or brain. A healthy dog should have a blood platelet count of 170,000-500,000. His blood vessels are leaking under his skin, causing dark red splotches all over his body, eyes, and gums.

He was just hospitalized this weekend. His best bet for survival is more time in the hospital while being administered immunosuppressants, steroids, fluids, and around-the-clock emergency care. He has Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), a type of blood platelet disorder.

We're doing all we can, but staying in the hospital is extremely expensive, and without your help, we won't be able to continue his treatment. We want Dwayne to come home again, cuddle on the couch, and play with his stuffed animals again. Please help us bring him home again.
