Help Sisters Bring Our Mom Home & A Proper Homegoing
Donation protected
Firstly—Hello,
Thank you for clicking our GoFundMe and being a listening ear to my sister and I’s story. God knows we need it.
On September 20,2024 , My sister and I received a phone call saying unfortunately our Mom , Alicia Hicks, has passed away on Solo Vacation in the Dominican Republic. We never thought a beautiful vacation could turn out this way! Like most losses, this was unexpected and devastating! We are ruined by the fact that our mom was and is alone in the Dominican Republic. This is especially hard as we lost our father just last year. We feel like we are trapped in a constant state of grief!
We have started the process to bring our mom home to us, but now we must call on our God, family, friends, and donators to help us where we have fallen short.
To know my mom was to love her. She always gave to those in need & helped people when she could. One thing my mom would do is hop in the kitchen and cook for any and everybody! My mom was very passionate about her family, most importantly Me and my sister. We were the apple of her eye. It has always been just us 3 . When you seen us, she wasn’t too far behind. The three A’s—Alicia, Alea, and Amanda!
Even thought my mom had us, she still greatly mourned her son and our Brother, MarMar who passed at 18 in 2001.
With your gracious donations, my sister and I will be able to give our mom a homegoing service just as beautiful as the life she lived on Earth. This GoFundMe will give us the ability to bring my mom back to the United States & properly lay her to rest and reunite our mom with her beloved son—Our beloved big brother.
If you read this far, that alone is something we are gracious for—We Thank You from the bottom of our heart! If you cannot donate, we ask that you please share so God may put us in the path of someone who can. Even a $1 will get us closer to bringing our mother back to us and gifting us with our one last Goodbye. We love and will miss our parents everyday as we live without them! Please keep us in your mind and wrap us up in your prayers. -Alea and Amanda Hicks
