Please help Cindy and her family

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I’m they youngest of three sisters. It’s been a rough couple of years with Covid for everyone, and unfortunately a little bit extra for my mom Cindy.
Just in the past couple months my mom has had to go through a lot of testing and procedures I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Last year my mom was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. She had a good prognosis and the cancer clinic found no signs of it outside of the infected area. She went through a hysterectomy, and did radiation to make sure it was all done with.
But what seemed to go as smoothly as cancer treatment can, apparently was probably over looked as just a routine case.
May came around this year and my mom had been cancer free in her blood tests so far. She was in tofino with my sister when she noticed she was out of breath and had a pain in her shoulder. So after some not so nice tests, they determined it to be small tumors in her lungs and shortly after one on her liver.

The really frustrating part about learning that is came back was how long it took for the healthcare system to take it seriously, the biggest issue was that her gp was on maternity leave and no other doctor was able to take her on as a patient so it wasn’t untill the end of July that the cancer society booker her for any kind of treatment plan.

My mom was then booked to start chemo on Aug 26, but just recently when the cancer society decided they wanted another scan, what showed up shocked everyone. The cancer was showing to be in her lungs, liver and now brain. The obstetrician then decided to pause chemo because she wanted to do radiation on her head. But by this time my moms health had severely declined, she hadn’t been eating for weeks and could barely walk around to get anything for herself. So, after talking with her very kind hearted GP, my mom has decided to not accept the radiation treatment as it could be even more damaging to her current quality of life.

So the current update on my mom is that she is in the Nanaimo hospital getting all the care she can while they try and treat all her symptoms that come with this horrible disease. Anyone who wants to visit with her, please talk to my sister Kelsey as I am not home until Monday so I do not know all the details of her schedule.

The funds for this will be going to my sister Kelsey. She is struggling to keep up with the money needed to upkeep the house while my mom is in the hospital. she works from home but since my moms health has been declining she has not had much time to work. With my mom now at the hospital, she is there everyday which stops her from working at all until I can make it home. I hate asking for money but sometimes it’s the only way to help others. So if you can help us out in this time of need, anything is appreciated.
