Please help Cindy Sawyer and her family

I am writing this on behalf of my dear friend Cindy Sawyer.


Cindy is a loving wife and an amazing mother. On October 17th, 2019 Cindy was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. As devastating as the news was for Cindy and her family, her strength never wavered. Cindy is, and has always been a true warrior.

On October 22nd, Cindy began her first 30 day stretch of Chemotherapy. She will have multiple long stays in the hospital in Seattle and will be out of work for at least a year.

As anyone can imagine, this is a terrifying process, even to a woman with Cindy’s strength. Her children and husband, Gordon, are doing all they can to be with Cindy during this time.  However, it is impossible to halt the responsibilities of daily life, and the mounting medical bills. Everyone is rotating taking days off of work each week to ensure someone is always by her side. Lost wages and increased financial obligations are inevitable.

Cindy is facing a future filled with trials and tribulations. She knows it’s a long road ahead but, thanks to the support and love she has been shown, she is not fighting this alone.


Cindy is a fighter, survivor, and she’s spunky as hell! She laughs and smiles, all while facing what lies ahead. Even in her moment of strife, her concern is for her family. Her daughter is supposed to get married next year and Cindy is also expecting her first grandbaby in February.
