Please help Colton and Jody
Donation protected
Hey y'all!!
I am creating this fundraiser to help one of my dearest, lifelong friends and his son. I have known Jody for over 30 years and was very close to he and Colton's mom, Marcie, when he was born.
On Nov. 7, 2023, Colton, who is 31 years old, had been experiencing some sever stomach issues and was told he had terminal cancer. After some testing, the family was informed that Colton was suffering from a Malignant Desmoplastic Small round cell tumor of the Sigmoid Colon and that it was stage 4 :(
My heart breaks for this sweet family, as they just lost their oldest son, Colton's brother , 3 years ago.
Colton's treatment schedule is quite rigorous and Jody has had to quit his roofing job of many years, in order to become Colton's full time caregiver.
His current treatment schedule is as follows...
Traveling to UW in Seattle, Colton stays for 10 hours and is administered 3 different types of chemo and then goes home for 2 weeks.
They then, again, travel to Seattle to the Fred Hutchinson Center for infusion treatments, 5 days a week, 6 hours a day... and then return home for a week, before they once again start the regimen all over for the duration of 3 months. At the 3 month mark, they will then add a radiation protocol that will last another 6 months.
This treatment regimen merely began on Dec. 31, 2023, so they have a long road ahead of them.
Colton has been advised to apply for full disability, but as we all know, that in itself is a really long process, and with no income coming in at the moment, the family really needs our help!!
Please, if you are able, consider donating to help this sweet family during this devastating time of need.
All donations will be used for travel costs, and meals, as well as groceries and utilities, etc., until other means can be established.
Colton and Jody send their deepest thanks in advance and appreciate all prayers and good vibes... We're going to beat this!!! -Colton Hammons
