Help Horse Healing Sanctuary Costa Rica

Hello! My name is Maria and I started this campaign earlier this year asking for help with hay and fencing for a healing herd of rescued horses. We were coming out of our rainy season, no work season as we are still getting our heads above water after Covid shut down our borders for a year resulting in loss of income and additional loss last year as none of the large yoga retreat groups we usually work with traveled. 

Today I am asking for help with donations for the downpayment to secure the land purchase to offer forever sanctuary for the horses and allow us to create the infrastructure to become a sustainable equine healing center. 

The Osa Horse Medicine horses are a special herd of seven who have all been rescued from neglect, abuse, abandonment or scheduled for the slaughter. Here they receive the care and healing they need to regain their health and trust and then the horses choose to partner with humans who come for growth, healing and connection. These sessions heal the horses also. 

We have an immediate need to secure the land as our current situation is not long term without land payment. 

We have moved numerous times in the last seven years since while offering this work mostly without infrastructure and have finally found the land to buy to support the horses.

In order to gain sustainability, offer the best sessions we can for our clients while properly providing for the horses we need to own our land to create an intentional space we can rely on for years to come. 

$20,000 covers our down payment, attorney and surveyor fees.

$20,000 covers basics of fencing, gravel for entrance road, rustico roof, corral, bathroom and kitchen to support all day sessions, workshops, retreats and host other equine professionals.

The farm is titled and has a year round river. It is a mix of forest and pure pasture.

This down payment allows for self sufficiency in paying off the rest of the land while improving infrastructure and expanding offerings.

This Sanctuary Farm has been my dream my entire life. It was not until I met the Horses in this way seven years ago did I understand the powerful healing potential the farm would be.
