Please Help Gabriel During His Recovery
UPDATE III (7-22-21): Gabriel's diagnosis was confirmed to be Ewing's sarcoma/PNET, a rare bone cancer. Today he began chemotherapy, which could go on for as much as six months. We'll get an update in two months to see how well the treatment is working.
Gabriel is battling for his life and will be out of work for possibly another year. We will need all the assistance we can get.
It wasn't the news we wanted to hear, but we're fully prepared to fight. Thank you again for everyone's continued love and support; it has raised our spirits high, and Gabriel began today with his head up.
And last week, on July 15, Gabriel married the love of his life, Natalie.
UPDATE II (7-1-21): We have been to a couple doctors who have presented two options of what type of cancer we're dealing with: One is testicular and the other is Ewing sarcoma/PNET, which is a not-so-good option. The doctors are coming up with a chemo plan as we speak. We are hoping that, although we have an unfavorable prognosis, we can fight. Any bit helps. Thank you for the love and support along the way.
UPDATE I (6-18-21): Thank you all for your continued love and support. It's been a tough first month, but Gabriel is working hard at recovery. We're still waiting on the biopsy results, so we're not yet sure what type of cancer we're dealing with. We've got four hospitals working to find an answer. In the meantime, Gabriel has built enough strength to start radiation treatment this week. Depending on the cancer, he'll need chemo next.
He's moving around without the walker now. He's got a ways to go, but I've been watching him since day one and have seen tremendous progress. We stay positive in this house! If you can't donate, please share. Every bit helps.
ORIGINAL: My brother Gabriel, a medical professional who has worked hard throughout the pandemic, has recently received emergency surgery for a mass on his spine. It's his third surgery within a year, and it can take more than six months for him to fully recover. He has to do physical therapy to relearn to walk and gain his strength.
Gabriel and his fiancé, Natalie, are new homeowners. They're also both in nursing school. This money will keep them from struggling with their mortgage during this time.
My brother is the hardest worker I know. He loves to help people, and he made a career out of it. He's already eager to get back out there, but it will take time. Until then, he could use our help.
We are grateful for any support you can provide. Please keep him in your thoughts and wish him a speedy recovery. Thank you so much, everyone.
