In Memory of Gary Harmon

On November 9th, Gary received tragic news: stage 3 colon cancer.

Learning you have cancer never comes at a good time, but for Gary and his kids, the timing of his diagnosis was devastating with all the other health issues he has, plus being diagnosed with Cancer.

He was starting to lose weight and lose his color and was in a lot of pain and went to the dr and was sent to ER, where he spent the day; then, he was admitted to the hospital that afternoon. They ran more tests that night, and they did a colonoscopy the following morning. We got the results that afternoon that he had colon cancer stage 3. It is treatable, but he has had multiple blood transfusions, blood tests, kidney failure, infections, and pneumonia. He is still in the hospital, and he will not be released until at least the middle of December. Then he will go to rehab and start chemo and radiation daily for six weeks. Once strong enough, he will be released to go home with his family.

He has a strong support group between his six children and their spouses or significant others, 18 grandchildren, his girlfriend, the rest of his family, family friends, bosses, coworkers, customers and kids he coached in baseball and football through the years. He coached his kids in Carson Valley Little League and Douglas Pop Warner. He is blessed to have such fantastic support, and they have all come to visit him in the hospital and help keep his spirits up and tell him he will get through this and that he is strong!

I humbly ask that you share Gary's story and prayerfully consider contributing to him and his family in this time of need! They are not one to ask for a handout but a hand up in a time of need. He has a huge heart and would give you his shirt off his back. He has been there for so many in their time of need, and now it's our turn to return the favor.

We ask you to share this and pray for him and his family. Gary has always been a hard worker and has worked for decades with his employer. Unfortunately, he does not have health insurance, and the medical expenses are already starting to stack up. We have a bank account set up soon for donations. If you can donate, please donate. We may also put up a donation box at his work after we talk with his bosses.

We thank and appreciate all of you who are donating, sharing this, and praying for his family.
