Family Holiday turns into Nighmare!

On behalf of the family of Kristy and Steven Reyment, we are hoping to take some pressure and stress off an already awful holiday experience and mounting hospital bills. Their long awaited family holiday has turned into a complete nightmare. Kristy is stuck in ICU in Bali, in a really bad way. She has pneumonia which led to respiratory failure. There is also a mass on her lung which needs investigation. They were meant to head home Monday morning however they still have no idea when they will be heading home as Kristy is still so unwell and unable to be discharged. They have travel insurance however, are getting the run around. Steve has been tirelessly contacting all of Kristy’s doctors in Australia, getting numerous medical records from multiple sources to get the insurance sorted, all while trying to entertain 3 kids who are very upset that their mum is so sick and having to see her that way with no indication how long she will need to stay in hospital to recover. They kids are also missing out on valuable school time. The hospital has said today that Kristy will be in ICU for atleast one week from today with no indication when she will be able to be discharged and safe to travel home. No funds have been approved with insurance at this time, due to needing further medical evidence, they have already had to pay $10,000 upfront and Kristy has only been in ICU for 3 days so far, and requiring to stay longer due to her current condition. The hospital bills could amount to $25,000 or more, not to mention the additional cost of accommodation, changes of flights and loss of wages etc. We really want to take the financial stress away from what is already an awful experience for Kristy, Steve and the family. I know they would appreciate any support they can get to make sure Kristy and the family can get home and discharged from hospital. Steve and Kristy and family are so grateful for all the support and love received so far and hope we can continue to support them.
