Please Help give Albanian dog a safe future in the USA

Please help me raise funds to pay for the flight for this beautiful dog to fly to DC from Albania on June 1. I personally will accompany her to DC from Tirana, where she will be put in a foster home until she finds her forever family.

The stray dog problem in Albania is heartbreaking. Dogs are often poisoned, stabbed, and left in a dumpster, beaten, or left on the streets by their owners. The lucky ones are living with a pack of dogs and have been tagged (spayed/neutered).

I met Isabella a year ago. She was a puppy, and she and another white dog would leave the warehouse where they were living and follow me and my dog Baloo on our walks. Often, her owner would kick her when she returned. I would usually leave a pile of food at the warehouse so that she wouldn’t follow me home. One day, she was no longer there, and I wondered what happened to her. I heard that a local lady took in the adult white dog. A few months later, Isabella reappeared and was living on the streets in my neighborhood, foraging for food by the dumpsters. I noticed she was in heat, and all the male dogs in the neighborhood were after her. I was able to take her to the vet and get her spayed.

After a week in the hospital on antibiotics, I released her back on the streets. I would see her daily on my walks and would bring her food and water. Some friendly people in my neighborhood would also feed her. But soon, I was informed that some of the locals in the neighborhood where she lived were scared of her and the other stray dogs and threatened to poison her if the feeding continued. With this new information, I took her in and kept her at my house until there was room at the shelter. Isabella is the most loving girl. She played with my granddaughter, and she just lights up the room when she walks in.

I am trying to raise $1000 to cover costs for Isabella: flight, crate, and vaccinations. If I can raise $2000, we can cover the cost for a second dog who is joining us.

I know times are hard. But if you can spare a few dollars, it really goes a long way here in Albania. Any donation will be so appreciated. All the money I raise will go to the dog's flight and Dandi Mission: Aida Shabani.
