Greg O'Brien's Memorial Fundraiser
It is with great sadness that we share this tragic news. Our dear friend Greg O'Brien suffered a sudden cardiac arrest last week and was rushed to the hospital. After being in ICU in a coma for several days and suffering extensive brain damage, Greg passed away in the early hours of July 24. Whitney is now focused on his funeral and will be sharing details of a service as soon as she can have everything together.
It is a shock and devastating for Greg's family. He is survived by his wife Whitney and his 2 young children Darrin and Claire, and his mother and sister. Their world has collapsed as they suddenly lost the center of their lives. Darrin now has to suddenly grow up in a matter of days, as he and Claire navigate life without their father.
Greg was a devoted father, husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague; he died suddenly, in the prime of his life and career. His death will cause a significant financial hardship on his beloved wife and young children. Whitney will need much help with looming medical expenses, funeral expenses, mortgage payments, and education funds for the children. They are facing dire straits.
Greg’s life revolved around his children, Darrin (12) and Claire (10). They adored their father, and we are setting up this GoFundMe on their behalf so that their needs can be met and they can feel a bit more secure about the future, as he would have wanted. Anything you can contribute in his memory will be very much appreciated.
