Gunner’s tumor surgery

Hi my name is Sahar and Gunner is my sister’s Akita. Gunner means the world to my sister, who isn’t married and has no children. Gunner and her have travelled across and all over North America, from Canada to the USA. He is my sister’s life happiness and joy.

Today was a happy day for us, many great things happened and my sister and Gunner had a big move planned tomorrow yet again to go to Arizona. She was moving for him, getting a house with a big yard for him, everything was for him ..

unfortunately I received a FaceTime call from her this evening showing me that Gunner wasn’t looking good suddenly he was laying down and wouldn’t move .. his stomach was contracting and he was groaning. We thought he had an upset stomach so we got him some pumpkin , but it was looking worse and worse by the minute. His head started to fall back and his eyes started to roll back into his head .. at this point we knew we had to take him into the ER. By the time we got here his gums were totally white, his blood pressure low, heart rate very high… these were all bad signs .. Gunner had gone into shock. When the vet came out she gave us the worst news .. Gunner has a huge tumor, a hemangiosarcoma and it had bursted. The vet said he wasn’t going to live through the night but that if we wanted to we could do surgery and remove his spleen but even then his days might be numbered if he survives the surgery. My sister, it was heartbreaking was in shock and just bursted into tears begging the vet to do anything to save Gunner’s life. Even if it meant another day with him. Gunner is in surgery now, it is 2:04am and we are all awaiting the news to see how everything goes. We are all in shock and honestly I’m not even thinking straight as I’m typing this out. All I know is that we will try to do anything to save Gunner’s life. This is just the beginning of a long recovery if he’s given the chance of one. The surgery tonight alone is $10,000 and if Gunner makes it my sister has a long way to go. My sister would sooner starve and give her last dollar to save Gunner. Which she did. She did everything for him.  She’s a single dog mom and now I want to help her a little bit.. she needs our help and support. She doesn’t even know I did this for her but it will really help. Any amount will help.
