Please help in Pedro's fight against Cancer

Pedro has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, which was discovered after several weeks of feeling sick and experiencing rapid weight loss. Pedro first started showing symptoms in late March, when he began coughing here and there. Around mid-April, the cough elevated to a point that wasn’t normal, and at times was so severe, that he was not able to keep any food down. This resulted in an extreme weight loss within a short time frame which became alarming, with him losing over 50 pounds. He began to seek medical help and they ran tests on him to determine the root cause of the problem. Throughout April and early May, between the bloodwork, the back-forth X-rays and ultrasounds, it led to him finally seeing a gastroenterologist urgently. They immediately found a concern with his liver and low iron count. Pedro also underwent a colonoscopy, in which a malignant tumor was found and once biopsied, was identified as possible stage 4 cancer.

At the same time, this was found and while he was awaiting further results from a CT scan, the doctors also discovered that the cancer had spread and metastasized into his lungs and liver. Because of this, the doctors stressed having Pedro begin chemotherapy in order to attack the current metastasized areas. This will hopefully clear the way for him to have surgery in the main cancer location, as well as avoid any more spreading. He had port placement surgery in June and started his chemotherapy treatment already in early July. His PET scan at the end of July showed some minimal spreading of the cancer into some of the bones in his shoulder, spine and pelvic area, which will require separate treatment.

With an army of supporters at his side, including his family, numerous close friends, his entire team at work and his beloved partner Minette, Pedro has remained extremely positive throughout all this. He is determined to beat this and be back to normal once it’s all said and done.

For those of us that know him, we know he’s quick-witted, is always able to find humor in all corners of the world, and always committed to finding a way through any problem. But we all know that he’s also very private and never the type to want to burden anyone around with any negative or worrisome issues. This is why, his work family and his partner, Minette, understanding the enormous weight of medical expenses that have already begun being tacked on, in addition to having stepped away from his work duties, we created this page for Pedro.
