Jason Brough passed away in his sleep August 1st, 2019. He was found by his longtime roommate and friend Matt Helsel the morning of August 2nd looking peaceful, under the covers in his bed. It is with a heavy heart I write this and an ache that has continued to grow as the loss of this beautiful soul becomes more real. Jason has been my roommate for 5 month, but I have known him since Matt and I started dating in 2014. His presence in our home will be extremely missed. He was a wonderful, kind and intelligent man. He had so many funny quirks, he could fix anything, and he was constantly learning. I rarely saw him with out earbuds in listening to endless audiobooks and podcasts, ranging from all different kinds of subjects. He was a very gifted gardener and had a huge heart for animals, especially cats. He followed his sweet kitty Zelda into the unknown, who passed away a few months ago. He loved her so much, I am happy at least he is with her again. Matt and I will be adopting his kitty Chester, who he adopted last year. Chester just showed up one day at the house and worked his way into Jason's heart, and now he has into ours as well.

Many friends and family have reached out and shared their stories about Jason on social media, which has been so consoling to read, thank you so much for that. We all need each other, even if we do not know each other as we mourn this great loss. Jason's family had him cremated and will be having a memorial later this month, details to come soon.
We are asking for funds to help off set the costs of cremation and the memorial to ease the stress of this difficult time for Jason's family. Even a small amount helps. All the money raised will go directly to Jason's dad to be used for these expenses. Even if you can not donate, sharing this page would be helpful. Thank you so much. My heart is with you all.
