Please help Jayden fund a Hero Arm
Hello everyone, thank you for watching our video!
This go-fund-me is to raise my son Jayden's funds for a Hero Arm, a myoelectric prosthesis produced by Open Bionics.
Jayden is 10 years old. He was born with what he calls a “little arm”, which is really a limb difference to his left arm due to Amniotic Band Syndrome. This is where the amniotic fluid creates a band (in Jayden’s case around his arm) and stops the growth, making a shortened limb.
He is an amazing, energetic, sporty boy who takes everything in good humour, just like any other 10-year-old. The difference is he struggles with simple tasks the majority of people rarely have to think about. Cutting up food, tying shoelaces and getting dressed. We all have to do these things daily, but for Jayden they can add up and become a big struggle of overcoming many small challenges every day. A Hero Arm would relieve him.
Jayden has many interests. Videogames, bike riding and riding on his scooter. He makes riding a scooter, bike and playing games look easy, but a Hero Arm would naturally enhance his experience. He would like to grip both handlebars and use a videogame controller as intended, and he would absolutely love to be able to do tricks and develop his skills further, especially on his scooter.
We have decided to raise funds through the Open Bionics Foundation to get a Hero Arm because we feel it would benefit Jayden immensely while he is growing up. Many opportunities will open to Jayden with this versatile prosthetic limb, and he will be able to do everything he wants and more with as little trouble as possible. Most importantly, it would boost his confidence and give him a life-changing sense of independence where basic prosthetics cannot.
Here is the Hero Arm...
We are beyond grateful for your support and any donation to make Jayden’s dream of having a Hero Arm become a reality.
Thank you so much!
