Please help Jeff Berman

To start off, everyone that knows my dad, knows what a good man he is . He raised my sister and myself alone, as a single dad, starting when we were 6 and 4. He joined Ridge fire dept and was a volunteer fireman for over 13yrs, because our home burnt down when we were younger and he wanted to help save families , like ours were saved.. this is the home we moved into right after that, and has been our childhood home ever since. He had a horrible accident and fell off of a building in 2005 , and broke 19 bones, every bone on his left side. He never healed because he had to work. He’s always had a lot of pride and has always tried to figure things out on his own, he doesn’t ask for help. And that’s why it’s come to this point, where he needs all the help he can get right now. He was a working man, as he was all his life, and one day (March 2023) he literally could not move. His whole body just went into agonizing pain. We had to call an ambulance for him, where he stayed in the hospital for a few days. But there was nothing they could do for him for his pain, and he also had to come to terms that he is unable to work any longer. Anyone who knows him, he took this extremely hard, and is still hoping to one day get back to work.

He had to see a surgeon because of his back and knee pain. He has gotten multiple injections, procedures, that are not working. His last resort was for surgery in his back. He spoke with surgeon, and end result, his bones are so deteriorated, that they cannot preform the surgery. He has no other options, but to be on pain management for the rest of his life.

He was not set up for this to happen, and has been in our family home since 1995. This is our childhood home that we grew up in. He owes back rent starting from March. We have tried every program out there, thru the state, social services. churches… and there is nothing out there that is able to help him. Being he was in the fire dept, they were able to help with a couple of months rent, thankfully. But, unfortunately, that is not enough to stop his eviction and keep him in his home. His landlord is a very good man and has been trying to hold on with him thru this because he knows my dad is a good man as well and hates to see this happening to him, but it’s come to point , where he needs to come up with the money , or he has to leave his home. He is barely capable of walking around, let alone moving 35+ years of memories and items in his home. And has nowhere to go. His rent is the cheapest he will find. He won’t be able to afford anywhere else . If he can come up with his arrears , we can figure out how to move forward.

I have never done a go fund me for anyone before, but i had one made for me , and I know it helped me tremendously when I needed it, so hoping this could save my dad and help him in this desperate time. This is literally our last resort. Have tried everything else.
