Please Help Jody and family During Cancer Battle

Happy Holidays everyone, my name is Nicole I’m creating this fundraiser for my mother in law… She is having a hard time this Christmas financially and the last few years medically!

My mother in law has fallen on some very difficult times. First, let me say she is the most selfless women I know. She raised 3 children of her own who are now adults, and Has been fostering for over ten years. No matter what’s she going through in her own life she never hesitates to help a child and give them a home! She has adopted 5 of the children she fostered, giving them a forever home!

Tragedy struck our family when she was diagnosed with 2 types of Stage 2 breast cancer! She suffered through 3 surgeries to remove the cancer, including a mastectomy and 5 rounds of Chemo therapy, and 25 rounds of radiation (Still fostering and taken in children through out this time!!). She then had 3 more surgeries for the removal of her port, that went terribly wrong causing her a pulmonary embolism last year! Thank the lord she is currently cancer free! However, due to struggles caused by the multiple surgeries she went through, she is currently awaiting surgery out of state to repair the damage and ease the pain from multiple cysts that are growing in the area of the mastectomy, putting her at higher risk for the cancer returning! She just went to a surgeon out of state, which the consultation was covered under medical, but the parking, transportation, childcare ect… was not. They are expecting to do the surgery in May, with many trips expected in between and post surgery, again additional expenses. She also has surgery in December to remove more cysts. She has survived off her savings since her initial diagnosis, however that has since been depleted, leaving her struggling to get by with household bills. She is not one to ask for help, and Is the first to help others! No matter how much she’s struggling herself! She’s the person who stops when you’re broke down on the side of the road! She is probably one of the most generous and selfless people I know! She would never post this herself, but we are hoping to get her some help with her basic monthly household bills so she can focus on her medical care and getting herself healthy and not stress so much during the holidays and months waiting for her surgery. We can see the toll the financial stress is taking on her well being and health and would really like to help her through these struggles! She currently needs assistance with her rent and utilities over the coming 6 months awaiting her major surgery in May 2024.
