Please Help John Dugan Fight HIs Battle!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kristy Dugan and I am fundraising on behalf of my first cousin Johnny ( John) Dugan. I cannot tell you how proud the men in my family are and John is no different. He has been blessed with an amazing wife Jeanette and beautiful 14 year old daughter Lucie and they have been battling this alone for the last 11 months. John has always been a great friend, cousin, husband, brother and son and now that his fight needs to be aggressive I think it's time they allow us to help. Let me tell you a little bit about Johns story.....
Last November John was working an event in the Middle East when he suffered a seizure. He was sent home to the United States where he suffered a second seizure four days later. Extensive testing concluded he was suffering from a grade 4 glioblastoma, a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumor. Luckily the tumor was small enough and in a part of the brain where it could it could be fully removed. Surgery was successful and a course of chemotherapy and radiation followed in January and February 2022. The first post-operative scan followed on April 1 and he was given the all clear.
However 18 days later he suffered several breakthrough seizures over the course of a week. This left him with weakness down his right side, but a subsequent MRI proved inconclusive to his doctors as to what was causing it.
Over the summer things became progressively worse. He developed deep vein thrombosis and a precautionary catscan showed extensive pulmonary embolisms all over his lungs. His right side weakness continued and a recent MRI in September confirmed the worse; the cancer was back but had now spread to different areas of the brain, including the brain stem.
Despite everything he continues to fight, refusing to give up and has recently started a new course of chemotherapy and radiation. Unfortunately it is now too dangerous for him to be home and on Monday will enter palliative care, where he can receive the full care and attention he needs.
That is where we step in... Neither Johnny nor Jeanette have worked the last year and his insurance is not willing to pay for his palliative care. Anything you can give will make a difference. If we can help take some of this financial burden off of John and Jeanettes hands it would help tremendously. If you cannot donate then please send prayers and good energy. Please share this so we can get all the love we can and help Johnny in this fight. I will be updating you all. Thank you so much for your help, love and prayers. I love you and I know my family does too. I so appreciate you all....
Warmly,
Kristy
